Eleanor Koliz Hebrew Language Academy

The Eleanor Kolitz Hebrew Language Academy is a K-8 charter school focused on providing a quality primary education through the lens of Hebrew language and Israeli cultural studies. The design takes advantage of the verdant site by nestling the architecture into the existing tree canopy. The academic building and gymnasium are set apart, creating an entry in the space between. The brick façade faces the street and then opens up to the wooded backyard with bronze metal panels and abundant glazing. The two sided corridor scheme is strategically punctuated with gaps bringing daylight deep into classrooms. The main circulation spine includes intimate for students to gather, socialize or study.
