House of Light

This house is created by the intersection of two distinct spaces. One, a tall, introspective gallery, houses the owner’s contemporary art collection. Indirect natural light washes its north wall, balanced by light reflected off of a curving adobe wall to the south. The other space, a long, extroverted room, features views to the north, west and south through high doorways and low windows. A bridge links the master bedroom to the long living space, travelling over the sunken gallery and along the curve of the adobe wall. “I’m happy,” the client says, “to be living with my art in a house filled with light.”
