Austin Central Library Awarded AIA/ALA 2018 Library Building Award

We are honored Austin Central Library, a Lake|Flato + Shepley Bulfinch Joint Venture, is one of six libraries in the nation to be awarded a AIA/ALA 2018 Library Building Award. The Austin Central library is a building shaped by light, designed to respond to the context of its place.

"Evaluation was a big part of the success of the Josey Pavilion in Decatur, Texas, a 2016 COTE Top Ten winner designed by Lake|Flato Architects for the Dixon Water Foundation. During the initial design phase, Lake|Flato saw something they had been wanting to try for a while: the Living Building Challenge (LBC). If they succeeded, it would be the first of its kind in Texas"

Tuscaloosa's New Children's Museum Starts Fundraising

Lake|Flato is working with the Tuscaloosa Children's Museum (CHOM) to help them plan and fund raise for a new children's museum. The project is lead by Greg Papay who is calling the proposed new location for CHOM “super unique in the world of children’s museums, almost a state park." Read more about it here
