H-E-B Montrose Market
H-E-B Montrose Market is a 75,000-square-foot, neighborhood-inspired grocery, adjacent to the Menil Collection museum. It creates a friendly neighborhood gathering place, making use of existing trees, open space, and interior daylighting. Its design includes sustainable site development techniques such as water conservation and enhanced indoor environmental quality through daylighting and natural ventilation. Montrose received the highest level of LEED certification among its chain’s grocery store locations. Indoor areas include two stories of retail, dining and office spaces, while outdoor areas include seating for café dining, a stage for live performances, and exterior exhibition space for the local arts and crafts market. The project is certified LEED Silver. In collaboration with Selser Schaefer Architects.
